Truly Inspirational

What a great weekend. I loved General Conference. When I was on my mission I thought of conference as missionary super bowl……..it regenerated me. I look forward to it every six months, all the talks were great. I learned so much and wanted to share with you a few of them with you. First President Thomas S. Monson announced five new temples, I can’t really remember them all but one was Rome Italy I’m so happy. It could be that I have a dear friend that lives there and just thought about how excited she must be, Erica I’m so excited for you. (I told my parent we need to go to that open house) President Eyring talked about being unified; I think that the reason that I loved his talk so much was because he used my favorite scripture 3 Nephi 28:10.William D. Osward talked about becoming better teachers he gave three good teaching principles: 1. Show love to those in the class-call them by name 2. Teach from the scriptures 3. Encourage them to pounder on gospel truth But I think the one talk that touched me the most was in the Saturday afternoon session by Elder David A. Bednar, he talked about pray becoming more meaningful. He gave three ways to accomplish this: 1. Counsel in the lord in all thy doings. 2. Express heartfelt gratitude. 3. Pray for others with real intent and a pure heart. I really enjoyed this talk he gave a challenge to us to say a prayer where we only give thanks to Heavenly Father for the blessing that we receive asking for nothing. This made me think of all the things that I am so very thankful for I feel so blessed, I will strive to make my prayers more meaningful.

These are just s few of my thought on the amazing sessions of conference and I would love to hear your thought ant something that may have touched you.

Fun Filled Weekend!!!!!

This weekend was a blast…..Two of my friend came to town for their cousins wedding reception. Luckily for me that meant I would get to hang out with them all weekend. As far as activities that was going on, first on Friday night an institute activity-movie night. We went but didn’t stay that long because the movie was Singles Ward (seen it a lot). So we decided to go home and play, Guitar Hero (my favorite). The following morning was the branch 4-wheeling activity at Melcher Mansion.

I love this activity and look forward to it every year. We at the Branch are so blessed to have such wonderful leaders that really go above and beyond to make everything we do so much fun. You can’t even tell who the leaders are, Can you?
This time the trails were rather dry which caused us to get rather dusty……ok really dusty!!!!!

Lisa, Emily and I decide to go on the trail to Pomerelle…….for those of you that aren’t familiar with the area this trail is difficult and has many spots that are hard. Full of rock, that’s an understatement full of boulders that you have to go over. I must admit that there were a few times that I needed the guys that took us to help me. I was hard but totally worth it. Today I’m so sore from holding on to the handle and break. Never knew one could get so sore from 4-wheeling, now I know. I wished I had picture of the trail but I forgot to take my camera, thanks Mindy for letting me steal the pictures.

Well since school has started and has been in session for over three week it mean
summer is over.
I have wanted to post this for some time now and have just never got to it so better late than never right. I love summer time because it’s always so eventful and busy. In my singles branch (the best branch ever) we do so many fun activity one of which is boating at least once a mouth if not more. This is every summer event and has become one of my favorites and it something I look forward to. This summer may just be one of my favorites I over came my fear…….This is known as the Rock , and this summer I defeated it.

Just a little history of this bad boy, three years ago I wanted to jump off the rock and was just a little scared. (I may have been scared because when I was first told about the rock they said to make sure that you didn’t dive off it because it wasn’t the deep enough. ) Trying to be brave I of course thought no problem I can do it I’ll just jump!!! Easier said than done right……I made the climb up the rock stood at the top and walked back down. To make myself feel better about being a chicken I said it was the fact that I didn’t like the fact that it wasn’t very deep. (Excesses, excesses) Then last year I didn’t even try it, of course I didn’t want to look like a chicken for the second time. Well this summer I was feeling a little braver. It could have been because I’d been watching the Olympics. So the last boating trip of the summer I decided that I would jump off the rock. As I climbed up I all I could think about was “I must be crazy, and I hope I don’t die.” So instead of thinking about it I just got up there and jumped. I was scary but I lived and decided to do it again.

Do you think I look scared?
Perfect 10 don't ya think!!!!
All summer I have also been trying to get Lacie and Timbri to get out on the tube with me, I really enjoy boating and they had always just watched. They decided to go out on the tube; it was one of my favorite tube rides over because Lacie’s was screaming in terror the entire time. I laughed so hard that my abs we’re so sore the next day.

We all got gold metals!!!!

I finally quit Jack

To celibate the event Timbri, Lacie, and I went up to Lake Cleveland to do a little burning!!!!!

When we got there we took a walk around the lake,(well we didn’t walk completely around the lake so I guess we took a little walk to the lake) Lacie skipped some rocks. She was really good. I tried to skip a few rock but it never really happened, soooo I just threw some huge rocks in the lake instead… It did make a BIG splash. I would post a great video of Lacie’s amazing rock skipping talent but I would like to keep the few friends I have.
After the rock skipping we roasted our hot dogs (with cheese) over the amazing fire, and of course we also had smores. I of course went to open the catsup and it exploded all over me…I have the best luck :)

When it started to get dark it was a little scary because the BATS came out……I’M SO SCARDED OF BATS!!!!! I would have a picture of all the BATS but I was so terrified I was trying to hide. I'm sure this is what they looked like......I'm just lucking they didn't attack me....but a bird did get close :(

Then the main event happened, burning of the shirts, Lacie’s burned her nursing shirt from CSI because she has finished her schooling. I, burned one of my Jack in the Box Shirt.

The after!!!!!!!
We also took a drive up to the top of the mountain to look out; I never knew it was so beautiful!!! And that you could see so far….look it's Burley ….next time we go we will go in the day because there was this cliff we think!!!
It was a lot of fun, Lake Cleveland is so beautiful and a great place to camp they even had nice bathroom you know JUST IN CASE!!!!!
